Welcome back Midview Middies to another exciting year of school. Speaking of exciting do you know about the Midview Middies PTA and how you can be a part of this group. Over the next few weeks I will be posting on different activities that we are planning, what the PTA does, some of the issues that the national and state PTA are involved in as well as how you can be involved with the PTA.
When I heard about the PTA I was not sure what would be involved, how much time would I have to spend to be in it and would it take away from my families time. PTA is "A parent-teacher association/organization or parent-teacher-student association is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school." This means that as parents we work with the teachers to hold events for each child in our school district. This past year we have provided for the students Chrome books so that they can learn about different subjects, provided different resources to enhance the learning in the classroom. Also, we have provided busing for students to venture outside of the classroom and experience places that maybe they would not have a chance to visit.
Again I will be covering other topics soon so be sure to check back. Also our first meeting is scheduled for September 28 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at East Intermediate School in the library. Food will be provided and children are welcome to attend as well. Do not forget to check our PTA store where we have a lot of merchandise to purchase and stay tuned for our fall/winter sale.
